Search Tips:

    • Unicode Help for Socrates Users
    • Select Keyword to find word(s) anywhere in the record. Type terms in any order. Click Search Everything. Use "same" between words to search them in the same field (e.g., the same title or subject field).
    • Select Browse to see alphabetical lists of authors, titles, series, or subjects that begin with, or most closely match, the first term(s) entered. Omit initial articles such as: a, the, la, das, l', etc. Enter an author's last name first when browsing, e.g., austen, jane.
    • Select Exact to find records that contain an exact match of the word(s) entered, letter for letter, in that order. Use Exact for one word periodical titles, such as Nature, Science, Time. Omit initial articles such as: a, the, la, das, l', etc. Not recommended for author searching--try browse instead.
